About the event
In this unique 3-hour immersive workshop, K and Dannielle will share how two powerful occult systems--hypnosis and tarot-- can be utilized to guide your own creative work. After a brief historical overview (with archival images) of how hypnosis, art making and tarot are connected, K will teach you how to self-induce a trance state for your own creative making process and Dannielle with conclude with trance inducing tarot prompts and meditations to guide you into your visionary making space. We will conclude with a discussion.
We hope that you can join us.
In this workshop you will:
* Receive a historical and philosophical overview through a thoughtfully prepared lecture and powerpoint presentation covering connections between hypnosis, tarot, and art history.
*Learn how to induce a trance state quickly and enter your creative work in an altered state
* Learn how the flow of tarot and divination induces hypnosis, and how to utilize this state with prompts to deepen and guide your creative work and life.
A brief context for this workshop:
In 2016, Dannielle Tegeder came to see KPrevallet for a series of hypnosis sessions. Since then, they have continued to work together: through K's trance and hypnosis guidance, Tegeder has created a series of paintings and drawings. Now on view at St. Paul, MN at the University of Saint Thomas "Trance Notations" is a series of five paintings by Tegeder accompanied by K's guided voicescape. [You can view and listen to the show here: https://www.dannielletegeder.com/trance-notations].This seminar is the first time that K and Dannielle are coming together publically to share their many years of research, wisdom, and practice.
About the seminar leaders:
Throughout her career, Dannielle Tegeder's work has engaged with the history of modern painting and architecture, drawing from the multi-disciplinary spirit of 20th century art practices while seeking to find new experimental approaches. She has often developed collaborations to create dialogues between abstraction and music. Her work engages with current debates around abstraction, design, and utopian thinking, often exploring the role that social and urban systems play in shaping contemporary life. More recently, in both individual and collaborative work, her practice has centered on topics around feminism, alternative pedagogies, and the spiritual. In 2020 she co-founded the two-person collective Hilma’s Ghost. [https://www.dannielletegeder.com/about]
